Using Buying Power To Uplift Our Communities
The Minority Business Network came to be, based upon several factors. First, to allow minority customers the ability to locate minority owned businesses when they need a product or service. Secondly, to allow small to medium sized minority owned business to be able to gain a much larger customer base, and to hopefully gain some of the consumer spending of people in their communities which, all too often, are spent outside of the community.
By making it easier for minority consumers to gain information about minority owned businesses, it is our hope that we, minority consumers and businesses, will be able to take larger strides on the path to independence. Independence from our reliance on the majority community for jobs, home loans, auto loans, even municipal decision making.
More dollars kept in our communities mean more jobs for people from our communities. Our dollars will now make it possible for more of our children to be able to attend private schools and get the education to allow them to be the future leaders. Every dollar that is spent outside of our communities helps to perpetuate the current dismal state of many of our communities.We have the means in our hands, so to speak, to make a better future.
